Basohli, Nov 25: Government Degree College, Basohli celebrated International day for elimination of violence against women under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’’.
The event was organized under the guidance of Principal, GDC Basohli, Dr. Nidhi Kotwal. An online lecture was organized to commemorate the occasion.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Mukesh Kumari, Assistant Professor in Hindi, Govt. Degree College for Women, Kathua. She pointed out different reasons and causes of domestic violence, and various social issues related to violence against women. She opined that education of women and awareness about various Government initiatives and laws for the safety of women are some of the main solutions to eradicate the evil of domestic violence.
A total of 23 Students and all the faculty members participated in the event.
The event was organised by Babita Devi, Lecturer in Geography, and Preeti Khajuria, Lecturer in Hindi, GDC, Basohli.
