GDC Kunjwani observes International Day of Violence against Women

Jammu, Nov 25: IQAC in collaboration with “The Internal Complaint Committee for Sexual Harassment of Women” of GDC Kunjwani observed one day symposium on “ The International Day for The Elimination of Violence against Women’. The Programme was presided over by the Worthy Principal of the College, Prof. Hans Raj. On the occasion, he spoke at Length about the Rising Violence against Women especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, he highlighted the Need for creating awareness in tackling these issues and empowering women to become self sufficient. Dr. Arti Pandoh Gupta Convener IQAC and Internal CASH Committee Presented a Welcome address and highlighted the role of Gender Based Education to drive out Crimes and Violence against Women. The event also witnessed the participation of about 30 students. Froebel Choudhary of B. Com. Sem. III, Seeta Kumari of B. A. Sem V and Azmat Choudhary of B.A Sem I were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Poster Making competition, whereas, Titiksha Sharma of B. A Sem. III, Seeta Kumari of B. A Sem. V & Ankita Bhagat of B. A Sem. III were Ist, 2nd and 3rd winner among the participants who spoke on the topic: “How Gender Roles Can Create Lifelong Cycle Of Inequality”.
