SKUAST-J organizes guest lectures' for students

JAMMU, Nov 25: NAHEP-IDP-SKUAST-Jammu, under the guidance of Prof. J P Sharma, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu, organized guest lectures for the students on the themes 'Nutrient Management in Protected Structure and Functions & Deficiency Symptoms of Secondary and Micronutrients".
The guest lectures were delivered by eminent soil scientists Dr. Narendra Kumar Sankhyan, Prof. & Head, Department of Soil Science and Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Principal Scientist, Department of Soil Science from HPKVV-Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Sankhyan sensitized the students about the importance of greenhouse, crop cover under green house, plastic tunnel, plastic mulch, crop under the shade net house and nutrient management under protected cultivation.
Dr. Pardeep while delivering the lecture highlighted the importance of micro & macro nutrients and their deficiency symptoms. Students showed keen interest in the lectures and raised many queries which were answered satisfactorily by the experts. The main objective of the lectures was to equip the students about National Eligibility Test-Junior Research Fellowship (NET-JRF). More than 40 students attended the lectures.
Prof. B C Sharma, PI of IDP-NAHEP & HOD, Agronomy gave an overview to the students about the objectives of the event.
