SAMBA, Nov 28: Intensifying its drive against the sale of illicit liquor, District Police Samba has arrested a bootlegger and recovered 20 bottles of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.
Acting on a information received from reliable source regarding sale of illicit liquor in Supwal area, a Police Party of PP Supwal headed by I/C PP Supwal Insp Meenu Sharma rushed to the spot and apprehended a person namely Satnam S/o Baba Singh R/o Chak Ram Chand, Supwal, running a Chicken Shop at Village Chak Ram Chand, Supwal. The said person was selling illicit liquor to the general public at exorbitant rates to gain illegitimate profit.
While checking his shop, a total of 20 bottles of JK Special Desi Whisky of 180 ml each were recovered and seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No 347/2021 U/S 48 (f) Excise Act registered at P/S Samba and investigation started. |
