JAMMU, Nov 28: Apni Party Provincial Secretary, Mohammad Aslam Malik has welcomed the decision of Apni Party top leadership today for nominating members of Other Backward Class (OBC) office bearers for District Jammu.
In a meeting held here today, team of office bearers of District Jammu Rural was announced in presence of senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, General Secretary Vijay Bakaya, Provincial President Manjit Singh, State General Secretary Syed Asgar Ali, Chalotra of OBC Wing and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Hassan Mir congratulated the new office bearers of Jammu Rural and hoped that they will contribute towards their respective communities for their upliftment. Leaders of Apni party said Apni Party stands for the upliftment of OBCs in J&K and supports every effort for their welfare.
The community has faced negligence by the previous Govts and they need representation in real sense so that their decades old problems can be resolved.
Party said that “In the entire nation OBCs have 27 % reservation and the same should be implemented in J&K. By providing them opportunities in education and reservation in jobs, the oppressed class will be able to provide education to their children and it will open employment opportunities for them.”
Welcoming their appointment, the Apni Party said the initiative to strengthen the base of the Apni Party OBC Cell will be responsible for spreading the message of the party that the Apni Party is different from other parties as it believes in development of all sections of society and upliftment and empowerment of the down-trodden sincerely and without empty rhetoric. The OBC community and localities require special attention from the Government for developmental activities.
Apni Party top leaders said that they have suffered more. “The inequality towards the community and social biasness has affected women psychologically. Time has come when leaders from these communities should come out and join active politics for the welfare of their communities.” They also impressed upon to encourage education among the OBC children.
