NYK organises webinar on Catch the Rain campaign

Udhampur, Nov 29: Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, today organised webinars on Catch the Rain campaign as part of launch of Phase-2 of Jal Shakti Abhiyan.
The first webinar was organised on 27th November in which more than 100 youth volunteers from Blocks Udhampur, Chenani and Tikri participated. At the onset, District Youth Officer Sh. Khushal Gupta welcomed the guests, participants and students in the webinar.
He briefed the participants about the programme objectives and awareness initiatives being undertaken by the department in different blocks.
The Executive Engineer, PHE Div Taj Choudhary also participated in the webinar and made aware the youth about various initiatives of Jal Shakti Department.
He put light on the importance of such campaigns in the present scenario. Rakesh Padha (I/C Jal Shakti Kendra) also spoke about the measures of rain water harvesting. He focussed on the role of women folk in conservation and preservation of rain water and it proper use.
In the second webinar on 29th November, Sapna Kotwal, Project Manager IWMP addressed the participants the various initiatives taken by the department. She told that rainwater harvesting structure constructed in Gantwal village of Block Chenani is the best example of water harvesting structure and such models can be adopted by each Panchayat.
