6 days YCB Certification Workshop for Yoga Instructors inaugurated

Jammu, Nov 29: Yoga is one of the essential component of service delivery of Ayush Health and Wellness Centers, in order to equip AHWCs with highly skilled and proficient Yoga Instructors, Directorate of Ayush J&K in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga is organizing a practical training workshop in the premises of Yogashram, Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan Gole Gujral from 29th November to 04th December 2021.
These Yoga Instructors after training and certification would be deployed at different Ayush Health and Wellness Centers across the state. It is notable that these Yoga Instructors were already trained through virtual mode by the technical experts from Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi.
This workshop will be followed by YCB certification. The workshop was inaugurated by Director Ayush J&K, Dr. Mohan Singh by lightening of holy lamp and yoga prayer. In his address Dr. Mohan Singh emphasized that Yoga Instructor must learn the finest skills of Yoga so that they may better serve the communities in the disease prevention and health promotion. The skills of Yoga Instructors are also instrumental in motivating the communities to adopt Yoga as a health practice.
He also advised Yoga trainees to be diligent and focused on their Yoga Certification Board Examination which will authenticate their identity as a Yoga Trainer all around the nation and after which they would be employed in Wellness industry. It is pertinent here to mention that, these yoga trainees would be trained by an expert team lead by Seema Sagar, Assistant Research Officer comprising Lalit and Amrita from Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga. In her address to yoga trainees, Sagar motivated the students to clear all their doubts regarding various Yoga and Pranayama Techniques in person in the practical workshop.
In all 84 Yoga trainees from different districts of Jammu Division are attending the workshop in the calm and serene environment of Yoga Ashram of Bhartiya Yoga Sansthan for which Director Ayush thanked the organization. The inauguration program was also attended by other officers of the Ayush Department viz. Assistant Director HQ Dr. Rakesh Raina, Accounts Officer Sh. Durga Dass, District Ayush Officer Jammu Dr. Suresh Kumar, Medical Superintendent Govt Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu, Officer Dr. Vandana Dogra, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Aruna Bhatt, Divisional Nodal Officer Ayush Health and Wellness Center Dr. Aftab Iqbal Mir, Medical Officers Dr. Manjit Kotwal Dr. Arun Gupta and Dr. Anil Sharma.
