J&K’s Janta Ki Bhagidari initiatives praised in NeGD MietY event

Jammu, Nov 29: In the ‘Azadi ka Digital Mahotsav’ week-long event organized by National e-Governance Division (NeGD) which began today In New Delhi IT secretaries of different states/union territories made presentations on innovative IT initiatives taken respectively.
Amit Sharma, Secretary IT J&K and CEO, JaKeGA made a special presentation about few important IT driven success stories, popularity known as Janta ki Bhagidari which got accolades at all levels during the session. Amit presented Janta ki Bhagidari initiatives in J&K primarily driven by the launch of BEAMS (Budget Estimation Allocation and Monitoring System) followed by launch of Empowerment Dashboard in J&K wherein public has been direct access to see and monitor ongoing works upto the village and panchayat level in all 20 districts.
This Bhagidari is a two-way communication as it helps in receiving public feedback so that corrective measures can be taken wherein required while implementing works of different departments all across the UT. Amit shared Awaam ki Awaz initiative which is another perfect example of Janta ki Bhagidari in J&K UT wherein the highest authority of Union Territory, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha addresses the public through Radio and DD Kashir in a 30-minute episode touching important areas of public interest after taking feedback on topics from them through multiple IT-enabled social media channels.
He mentioned about the successful implementation of e-Office initiative of IT Department in J&K as it has helped in making Government department’s paperless and now, all Government business inside Secretariat is taking place on this platform. Union IT Secretary and CEO, NeGD Abhishek Singh along with august gathering praised these novel initiatives of UT administration taken with the lead role of IT department.
