PM should announce statehood to J&K on Republic Day: Taranjit Tony
11/29/2021 11:18:40 PM

Early Times Report

SUCHETGARH, Nov 29: Taranjit Singh Tony DDC member Suchetgarh today appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce statehood back to J&K on January 26, 2022 as a Republic Day gift to people of the region.
In a statement, the DDC member said that every single citizen of the region is waiting eagerly for the return of statehood and announcement of the same on Republic Day will bring cheers back in the lives of people who have been hurt badly due to degradation of the erstwhile state of J&K.
Tony, however, said that the BJP leadership in J&K is off and on assuring the people about the statehood but in actual they themselves have no idea about when this will be going to happen. He said that BJP leaders of the UT have even disappointed their high command by showing extreme level of political immaturity and highest degree of inefficiency during the short stint of their government in J&K.
Tony said that BJP is lingering the decision of giving back statehood to J&K despite assurances from the top leadership therefore people should not fall prey to party’s Jumlas and if before the conduct of polls the statehood will not be granted back there should be complete boycott of the party leaders ensuring forfeiting of their poll bonds.
The DDC member said that return of statehood is a crucial issue as sentiments of every resident of J&K are deeply connected with this aspect. “Delaying the decision can cost BJP much therefore it is advisable that the party should not test the patience of the people and grant the statehood as soon as possible”, he said adding that the Republic Day is the best suited occasion for satiating the aspirations of the people of J&K.
