DC Ramban chairs District Level Armed Forces Flag Day Committee meeting

RAMBAN, Dec 1: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today chaired the District Level Armed Forces Flag Day Committee meeting, here in his office.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; Addl. SP, Rajni Sharma; GM DIC Vishwajeet and several other concerned officers.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that 7th December is observed nationwide as the Armed Forces Flag Day to honour the soldiers, sailors and airmen of India who valiantly safeguard the country's frontiers.
The DC emphasised that Armed Forces Flag Day reminds us to express our gratitude as well as appreciation to the military personnel of India and to acknowledge those who made their supreme sacrifice for Mother India.
The DC said that the need of the hour is to increase the contribution through various means like token Flags.
He further said that involvement of Students, Youth Clubs and other volunteers is of prime importance to celebrate Armed Forces Flag Day at District and Sub- division level. He also invited Ex-serviceman /War Veterans to his Office to make the Flag Day more memorable.
It was decided that wide publicity will be given for generating donations. It was emphasized that the funds collected will be used for the welfare of Defence Personnel.
The DC directed officers to ensure the contribution of Flag Day from all the employees of District Ramban.
