GDC Kalakote Observes TB awareness campaingn

KALAKOTE, Dec 5: Red Ribbon Club of GDC Kalakote organized a TB Awareness Campaign under the guidance of college Principal, Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta.
A large number of students of the college took participation in poster making competition held as a part of the campaign.
The event commenced with a formal speech by Nodal Officer Prof Jyoti Devi, where she highlighted the causes and remedies related to spread of TB and why there is need of awareness campaign at college level.
Komal of BA Semester 1st bagged the first prize, Faiz Ahmad of BA semester 5th got second prize and Ruksana Kossar of Semester 5th got the third prize in the poster making competition on the TB awareness. The judges of the event were Dr Tariq Rashid Wani, Dr Mohd Shakoor, Prof Priyanka Kumari and Pooja Rana.
On the occasion, Principal GDC Kalakote Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta shared his valuable views about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of TB and to set up effort to end the global TB epidemic. He also remarked that people throughout the world should unite to fight against TB and show their support for the people living with TB.
Principal appreciated the students for their enthusiasm and active participation in the event.
He also said that such types of activities not only encourage in future participation but also imbibe confidence among the students. The event was concluded with vote of thanks given by Vrinda Sharma. All teaching and non-teaching staff was also present in the occasion.
