Government Degree College, Kilhotran organizes intra-college poster-making contest

DODA, Dec 5: In continuation to series of events under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav India @ 75 (phase-3) Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College, Kilhotran in collaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society, H&ME Department, Jammu organized an intra-college poster-making contest as a part of TB Awareness Campaign. The event was held under the patronage of Principal, Dr Javid Iqbal. Students of the college actively participated in the activity and prepared posters highlighting the causes, effects and preventive measures related to TB. The event was judged by Dr Barket Ali, HoD Botany, Dr Barket Ali, HoD Urdu and Prof Yasar Arfat Beigh, HoD Arabic.
In the event Saima Saleem student of BA semester1st was adjudged first, Aliya Tabasum student of B.A semester 3rd secured second position and third position was bagged by Mehvish Ara student of BA semester 5th. The winners were rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1000, Rs. 750 and Rs. 500 respectively. The event was organized by Prof. Arshad Ayoub, Nodal Officer, Red Ribbon Club and coordinated by the members of Red Ribbon Club, Prof. Mohammad Saleem and Prof Yasar Arfat Beigh.
Speaking on the occasion Principal of the College appreciated the efforts of all the participants and emphasized that organizing such activities related to TB awareness during COVID times is the need of hour. He also congratulated the Red Ribbon Club for successfully organizing the event. Besides he also thanked J&K AIDS Control Society for collaborating in the event.
