Suneel Mahajan elected as President of J&K Amateur Athletics Association

JAMMU, Dec 5: A general body meeting of J&K Amateur Athletics Association was held today at Jammu Club, Jammu. Suneel Mahajan President of the Association chaired the meeting with members from J&K and all districts being present. Raj Kumar Mittan, S. Bhupinder Singh Tirthi and Musabat Ismail from Athletics Federation of India, J&K Olympic Association and J&K Sports Council also attended the meeting as observers. Returning officer Ajay Vaid, senior advocate, appointed by the President J&K Amateur Athletics Association announced the names of the newly elected office bearers for the next term of four years. Suneel Mahajan, President; S. Ravinder Singh (Bubby), Senior Vice-President; S. Sarwant Singh Gill Vice-President; Tufail Ramzan Bhat Vice-President; Sharat Chander Singh General Secretary; Vinod K. Bhatia Associate Secretary; Reyaz Ahmed Joint Secretary and Varinder Kour Joint Secretary. Executive committee was also elected on the occasion. All the members expressed their views about the difficulties they are facing in the absence of synthetic track and athletics coaches in almost all the districts of J&K UT except Jammu. They particularly mentioned about the non-availability of even one coach in the Kashmir province.
