UDHAMPUR, Dec 5: Department of Music, Government Degree College, Boys Udhampur today organised a webinar on the topic “Hindustani Sangeet Aur Naadatmak Dhvani” late evening here on the other day.
Principal of the College Prof. Subhash Chander was the chief guest on the occasion. The program started with welcome address by Head of the department of Music, Prof. Samosh Kumar, while Dr. Kuldeep Raina HoD Music Government MAM College Jammu was the resource person of the event. He gave a detailed lecture on the subject and made the students of music of BA Semester-1st, 3rd and 5th to understand the nuances of the subject.
He talked about Ahata Naada, resonance and other sympathetic tones that are the essence of the music. “Naad is the essence of all sounds and a particular vibration, and fundamental frequency that come from one common source or a sound current” he added. The sound, which can be used for music known as Naad and sound which cannot be used for music called noise.
He also covered the establishment of twelve musical notes in the context of shruties. He briefed about the various scientific factors of sound in music especially Indian Classical music and also expressed that Indian Music has a universal architecture of twelve alphabets of music which contains the music of the whole world. i.e shadaja, komal Rishabha, shudh Rishabha, komal Gandhar, shudh Gandhar, Shudh Madhyama, Tivra Madhyama, Panchama Komal Dhaivata, Shudh Dhaivata, Komal Nishada and shudh Nishad.
Programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by prof. Pooja, Assistant Professor of Music. Other eminent were present prof.Sunita, Dr. Ajay sharma Prof. Rakesh singh and Prof Shaji .The whole proceeding of the program was conducted an coordinated by Prof. Samosh Kumar and Prof. Pooja of the department of music.
