Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Jan 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MLA Ramban, Neelam Langeh has raised serious concern over the abrupt surge in the number of Covid-19 cases across the Jammu and Kashmir UT and has emphasized upon the dire need to initiate effective measures to arrest the spread of the deadly virus.
In a statement issued to media here today, Neelam Langeh said that it is a matter of serious concern that the graph of new Covid cases has reached nearly 2000 cases reported per day.
Endorsing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's suggestions and directions to the Chief Ministers during a Covid review meeting, the former MLA laid stress upon the need to focus on local containment without effecting the routine functioning in the rest of the areas.
Langeh said that the Deputy Commissioners should play a vital role in containing the spread of Covid cases leaving no room at all for laxity in any form and must ensure that Covid SOPs are implemented in letter and spirit in their respective areas of jurisdiction. He also appealed to the people to fully cooperate with the administration in this regard and advised them to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour sacredly to save themselves as well as others from getting infected with the deadly virus.
Appreciating the Modi Government for achieving vaccination of 70 per cent people of the country with two doses, the former MLA said that it is also a matter of pride for every Indian that within 10 days about 30 million of the nation's adolescents have been vaccinated. He appealed to the people to ensure their full vaccination along with the booster dose for the specific category so that the spread of the lethal virus is arrested at the earliest.
