1/14/2022 10:38:48 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 14: With the death of Brigadier Suchet Singh, the Prant Sangchalak of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, the Jammu has lost a dedicated and sincere leader who reserved the society selflessly and truly without any personal consideration.
In the historic 2008 agitation for Shri Amarnath land row, Brigadier Suchet Singh was one of senior member of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samitte which had spearheaded the 64 days long stir in the Jammu region.
After his retirement from the Army, he was playing an important role in many organizations.
Singh, who was committed to the ideology always considered himself a dedicated Syawamsevak. Despite being Prant Sangh Chalak, he always preferred to remain a simple Sywamsevak.
A native of the Suchetgarh area of R S Pura, Brigadier Suchet Singh, popularly known as "Brigadier Sahib" in Sangh Parivar, became very active in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh since his retirement from the army in 1997. He efficiently discharged various responsibilities in Sangh Parivar.
In the year 2008, he was given the responsibility of Sangh Chalak of Jammu and Kashmir Prant. Earlier, Brigadier Suchet Singh was also the National Vice President of Purb Sainik Sewa Parishad. His contribution to the ex-servicemen was also significant.
During the 2008 Amarnath land agitation, he was a key member in the four-member committee constituted under the chairmanship of Advocate Leelakaran for talks on behalf of the Sangharsh Samiti. Brigadier Suchet Singh acted as an important link in the agreement reached at that time between Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti and the government.
During the first wave of Corona in the year 2020, Brigadier Singh worked with dedication and sincerity.
During his visit to Jammu in October 2021, the RSS chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat had gone to meet him at his residence to inquire about his well-being.
