Banihal, Jan 17: The Nachilana- Khari road sinking repeatedly at Harnihal is making people suffer.
“This link road has been in a dilapidated condition for the past ten years. This road is used by several construction companies involved in construction of railway project in Khari area,” locals said.
They said, “After the recent snowfall once again a part of the road caved in at Hirnihal. This happens whenever it rains or snows. Our repeated pleas to get this section of the road repaired have fallen flat till date.”
They said, “The sinking of this road causes lot of problems for the people living at Maho, Mangit,Buzla,Trana Trigam Khari and other areas having a huge population.” “Nachalana-Khari is a steep road and is under the supervision of construction companies working on Railway project for the past one decade. These companies have never repaired this road. We have repeatedly approached the management and company officials in this regard but no concrete steps have been taken till date,” they said.
“To repair this road is the duty of the construction companies as it falls under Corporate Social Responsibility. The concerned tehsildar has told us that we should talk to the construction company,” they added.
