Mahant Rajesh Bittu visits Dev Sthan Baba Bhed Devta

JAMMU, Jan 21: Chairman JK Kissan Council Mahant Rajesh Bittu along with Vinod Gupta BJP East Mandal Vice President, Vicky Choudhary of Yuva Jatt Sabha visited Kattal Battal Dev Sthan Raja Bhed Devta. The aim of the visit was to find ways in tackling the problem of fishing in Tawi river by the local fishermen of the area.
Balwant Singh Numberdar, Balbir Singh, prominent persons of the area, Rahul Sharma Inspector Fisheries Jammu, Mohd Hanief Fisheries Development Assistant, Jatinder Pal Singh Fisheries Dev. Assistant Ext. Wing Jammu, Mohd. Latief Dy. Inspector Upper Tawi Jammu, Balbir Singh Fisheries Guard and Bua Ditta Fisheries Guard Jammu Upper Tawi attended the meeting and it was discussed in detail about fishing rules and acts imposed by the Department near religious places of Jammu region. Moreover, the local persons of the area want a complete ban on fishing near Chahal Devta, Surgal Devta, Baba Milak-I, Baba Milak-II downstream Baba Bhed Devta area and to be declared as Sanctuaries. Also the catch and sale of small size fishes by the fishermen and vendors was discussed in detail.
Mahant Bittu advised to the field functionaries to cancel fishing license of those who are involved in illegal fishing activities in Jammu region.
Mahant Rajesh Bittu thanked Director Fisheries Bashir Ahmed Bhatt for deputing the field staff in the meeting and assured to the people that strict action should be taken by the field functionaries to curb the illegal fishing activities in Tawi river so as to protect the religious sentiments of locals.
