JAMMU, Jan 21: Govt Degree College (GDC) Jourian organized an online workshop on Rural Entrepreneurship Development (RED) in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, today.
The workshop was aimed to acquaint the students with the methodology that helps in promoting entrepreneurship opportunities in manufacturing and marketing rural products. The programme also familiarizes the students with rural services and exploring models of art, craft for entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
The programme started with the formal welcome address by the Principal of the college, Prof. Kuldeep Raj Sharma. In his welcome address stressed the need for the faculty and students who can adapt to the rapidly evolving learning environment to become entrepreneur.
The resource person of the day, Shivali Choudhary, UT of Jammu-Kashmir Coordinator, Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education interacted with the students of the College and made them aware of the various Rural Entrepreneurship programmes which can be adopted to become self-reliant for rural development. She also acquainted the students with the various schemes and programmes launched by the Government of India for Rural Entrepreneurship Development.
Dr. Rakesh Bharti, Convener IQAC provided technical assistance and conducted the proceedings of the programme. |
