Akhnoor Cricket Club lifts finals of Veterans Cricket Cup at Akhnoor

JAMMU, Jan 21: Final match of Veterans Cricket Cup which is organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor was played today at Akhnoor between Akhnoor Cricket Club and Ever Shine Cricket Club Satwari. KD Bhagat DySP DAR was the chief guest of match and Councillors Rakesh Malhotra, Depesh Singh were guest of honors.
Akhnoor Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first in which ACC scored 159/6 in 20 overs among which Kavi scored crucial 61 where as Deepak Sharma and Vicky also contributed 41 and 34 respectively. From Ever Shine Bansi Lal stuck two wickets whereas Kulwant, Hardeep and Prithpal stuck one wicket each. In chase Ever Shine managed to score 123/9 only in 20 overs. Prithpal Singh 25, Hardeep 30, Narinder Singh 15 were the main contributors. From ACC Vicky got 3 wickets, Ravi got 2 wickets whereas Dada and Deepak shared one wicket each. Sushil Gupta and Dharminder Sharma were official umpires. Manav Mehta was scorer.
While addressing the gathering DySP KD Bhagat encouraged the players of both the teams. He appealed youth to focus on games and sports so that they should stay away from social evils and drugs especially. He said being a local he feel proud to honor the veteran cricketers of both teams. He also appreciated role of Sham Singh Langeh and Singh Cricket Club for organizing such events in regular intervals.
Others present during ceremony are: Rajinder Sharma, Jimmy Manni, Sonu Malhotra, Parshotam Pawar, Anil Sharma etc.
