Snowfall plunges Kunda into darkness
Residents accuse PDD of targeting them for raising their voice

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 23: Residents of Kunda in Banihal area are up in arms against the Power Development Department for plunging their area into darkness. Residents while talking to Early Times said, “Whenever we enquire about why the electricity has been snapped to our area we are told that the line has developed a fault. Slight snowfall or precipitation provides an excuse to the lineman to disconnect the jumper.”
A group of residents that were moving amid snowfall to locate the fault said, “We have checked the entire line but there is no fault. The Power Department intentionally targets us as we always raise our voice against the injustice and the power services provided by the department.”
They said, “Snowfall provides the PDD with an excuse to disconnect our line, while other areas get the power.”
They urged the higher ups to look into the matter and mitigate their sufferings.
