FDC employees decry non release of 71% pending DA
1/23/2022 11:53:50 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Jan 23: A meeting of State Executive of JK Forest Development Corporation (FDC) Employees Forum was convened through virtual mode by Suresh Sharma, its spokesman. While addressing the meeting, Suresh Sharma said that it was noted with pain and anguish that inspite of clear provision in the approved budget, 71% DA and 7th pay commission report is still a dream for poor and hardworking FDC employees. Sharma cautioned the govt that with- holding of DA is a criminal act on its part as this component is directly linked with Price Index and employees have to defray inflation due to price hike at any cost. It is irony that even most of PSUs have implemented 7th pay commission report and are being paid full DA but for the unexplained reasons FDC employees are deprived of these legitimate sanctioned and approved financial benefits for no fault of theirs. Despite repeated letters particularly the one written last month by LG, Chief Secretary and CS Forests no action has been taken so far resulting lot of discontentment amongst the employees who are forced to work like bonded labour on trimmed salaries and have become very difficult for them to meet both ends.
Sharma appealed Financial Commissioner to release 71% DA and release 7 pay commission pay component immediately as proposed by management otherwise employees will come on roads and entire responsibility will be of the govt. He also urged to hold DPC of all cadres, release time bound and other arrears, decision on SRO cases, transferring of provident fund money to single central account and other issues immediately by the management. Aijaz Darzi, CK Sudan, Irfan Fareedi, Ab Majeed, Manjit Singh, Gopal Sumberia and several others attended the meeting and pledged to remain united under the banner of JKFCEF. They appealed all employees to tighten their belts for strike as there remains no alternative and financial year 2021-22 is going to lapse.
