GDC RS Pura organizes special events on ‘Girl Child Day’

JAMMU, Jan 23: The NSS Unit and CASH Committee of Government Degree College (GDC) RS Pura organized virtually special events to commemorate National Girl Child Day under the guidance of Principal of the college, Prof Sunil Uppal and supervision of Dr. Balwinder Kour, CASH Committee and Prof. Bindu Kumari NSS Program Officer. An online Inter-collegiate poster making/slogan writing competition was organized on the theme “Empowering Girls for a Brighter Tomorrow” in which students from various degree colleges participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. They made various captivating and informative posters and slogans like a world without girls is as impossible as a world without water, Give girls the wings to fly, not the pain to cry and die etc. An online Selfie with Mother/ Daughter competition was also organized in which female staff of the college along with the female students also participated. They posted their selfies with mother/ daughter showing their love for each other. On this event Principal of the college said that having a daughter is a blessing that brings a lot of joy and excitement in one’s life. He also appreciated the efforts of the NSS unit and CASH Committee members.
