DDC chairs weekly Block Diwas at Drudu, listens to people’s grievances

DODA, May 18: District Development Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma today chaired a weekly Block Diwas program here at Drudu Panchayat and listened to the grievances of the locals and PRI members.
During the program, the locals demanded transfer of Gutasa to Janana road to PWD, blacktopping of Chunna link road, replacement of damaged electric poles, sanctioning of 25 KV transformer at Neota panchayat, construction of water reservoir at Drudu, commissioning of Neota water reservoir, tendering of Hanga water supply scheme, construction of Playfield at Drudu, repair of Narnoo school, sanctioning of additional Anganwadi Centre for Neota, Bank branch for Drudu, distribution of free ration for the month of March.
Responding to the demands, the DC asked the BDO to complete the formalities for transferring Gutasa Janana road to PWD for its maintenance. The SE PWD was asked to pursue the DPR of the proposed bridge over Neeru nalah submitted in the Chief Engineer's Office. He also directed the concerned executing agency to expedite the pending construction on Seri to Tipri road.
Regarding the Hanga water supply scheme proposed under NABARD, the DDC directed the SE to ensure the tendering of the same within next one week. For the construction of Playfield at Drudu, Tehsildar concerned was asked to handover the patch of state land to RDD or Sports department so that funds were made available in consultation with concerned authorities.
With regard to repair of Narnoo School the DDC was informed by the CEO that the building has already been proposed under SAMAGRA. He further informed that a new bathroom will be constructed at Government High School Seri within the next two to three months.
The DDC further directed the concerned department to explore the possibilities of sanctioning an additional Anganwadi Centre for Neota Panchayat as per the set norms. The TSO Bhaderwah was directed by the DDC to distribute the free ration for the March month within the next two days and submit the compliance report to the ADC Bhaderwah.
Speaking at the meeting, the DDC urged the locals to take maximum benefits of social sector schemes including PMJJBY, PMJSY, APY, PMMVY, etc. The BDO Bhaderwah was directed to organize awareness programs for the PRI members with regard to social sector schemes so that they shall further aware the masses of their respective areas.
BDC Chairperson Omi Chand; DDC Councillor Thakur Yudhvir, besides ADC Bhaderwah, SE Jal Shakti department Circle Doda, SE R&B , CEO Doda, Tehsildar Bhaderwah, CDPO ICDS Bhaderwah, Sarpanches, Panchs and other District and sectoral Officers were also present.
Meanwhile, Block Diwas programs were also organised at Thathri B panchayat, MS Ranka (Assar), Udhyanpur (Bharat Bagla) and at Niabat Manoo (Gandoh) where teams of officers of the District administration interacted with the public and the PRIs of the district.
During the day long Block Diwas proceedings and interaction programme, public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands.
All the Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars and other officers participated in the Block Diwas programmes at their respective designated locations and made the public aware of various welfare schemes, besides reviewed the implementation of schemes and other developmental works. They listened to the local issues faced by the general public of the area and assured the public of timely resolution of their genuine issues.
