Bootlegger nabbed with 60 bottles of illicit liquor by police

SAMBA, May 24: Intensifying its drive against the sale of illicit liquor under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Dr.Abhishek Mahajan, IPS, District Police Samba has arrested a bootlegger and recovered 60 bottles (180 ml each) of illicit liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur.
Acting on a tip of information from reliable source regarding transportation of illicit liquor, a Police Party of PS Vijaypur headed by SHO PS Vijaypur, Inspr. Rajeev Kumar under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur, Ms.Priyanka Kumari intercepted a person near Sabzi Mandi, Vijaypur who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, a total of 60 bottles of JK Special Desi Whisky of 180 ml each were recovered from his possession.
The accused person identified as Timple Kumar S/o Karam Chand R/o Kotli Shahdoula, Tehsil R.S Pura, District Jammu who was carrying the illicit liquor trade in the area for his illegitimate profit has been arrested on spot and illicit liquor was also seized.
A case FIR No. 75/2022 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act registered at P/S Vijaypur and investigation started.
