NYK Udhampur starts its second 3 days Orientation training of youth volunteers on Investor Awareness, Education and Protection at Ramnagar

JAMMU, May 28: Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India started its second 3 Days Block level orientation training of youth volunteers and members of youth clubs on "Investors' Awareness, Education and Protection" at Ramnagar. The objective of the programme is to make the people aware of various investment schemes, protection from Ponzi schemes and cyber frauds. The 3 days programme was inaugurated by DDC Ramnagar Mool Raj, SDM Gopal Singh (JKAS), MC Chairman Binti Devi in the presence of District Youth Officer Khushal Gupta, officials of JK Bank and members of youth clubs
At the outset, DYO Khushal Gupta welcomed the Chief Guest & other participants and briefed about the objectives of the programme. He added that the event being organised in collaboration with IEPFA, Ministry of Corporate Affairs aims at sensitizing the youth about Cyber Frauds, Govt. Securities, Banking and Insurance, Equities, Mutual Funds and Post Office schemes. He said that during the 3 days training, the resource persons / subject experts will deliver lectures associated with their respective departments. In her address, Indu Bala (PO) gave an awareness lecture on Financial Inclusion schemes. She focused on RBI's Gilt-Edged securities and Bonds issued from time to time. Banking associate Divya Mahajan also presented her views on Equities & Mutual Funds and importance of portfolio diversification. Prof. Ritika Mahajan (NSS PO) also shared her views on the role of volunteers in spreading awareness to the last mile. She said that NSS and NYKS shall work together to spread more sensitization about such contemporary issues.
SDM Gopal Singh, while appreciating the event said that the need of the hour is to remain alert from fraudsters to save our hard earned money. He spotted the examples of many cases who came in the trap of various unregistered companies and lost huge sums in the greed of getting big returns in a short span. In the end, DDC Sh. Mool Raj addressed the youth saying that a sound mental health is very much required to cope up with day to day challenges. While quoting shlokas of many spiritual texts, he stressed on the need of spiritual knowledge in the present scenario. He also advised the youth to be job creators rather than job seekers giving many examples of entrepreneurs and founders of MNCs.
