Jammu, June 7: Kishtwar police on Tuesday registered FIR against three persons under relevant sections of laws for spreading communal disharmony and to create wedge among the two communities.
Following the registration of FIR, Kishtwar police warn the general public and advice them (Public) to refrain from making any comment in verbal or on any social media account.
“The general public is hereby advised to refrain from making any comment in verbal or on any social media account and platform having the potential to hurt the religious sentiments of any class / community and disturb peace and tranquility in the area” read the press statement issued by SSP in Kishtwar Police’s officials “WhatsApp” group.
The statement added that “any such person doing so shall be dealt strictly under law without any fail”.
Kishtwar police registered Case FIR 132/2022 U/S U/S 295 A, 66 C IT Act at Police Station Kishtwar and cyber cell of Kishtwar Police is monitoring the activity on social media platforms regarding the subject.
“We appreciate the cooperation of general public in maintaining communal harmony. Thanks -District Police Kishtwar” read the official statement.
When contacted senior police officials said that the name of two persons viz BJYM State General Secretary Ashish Sharma and IKJUTT leader Er. Saparsh Parihar along with another Youth Anshuman Rathore has surfaced so far in the case added that they are verifying the authenticity of the Facebook accounts of all the accused.
“We are recording the statement in the case- law will take its own course” said senior officials.
The officials said that both the accused had though deleted the Facebook post, but not before public outrage.
The action of the police came after various Muslim leaders, social & political activist and Muslim organisations called upon DC Kishtwar requesting him for registration of the FIR against BJP leader and IKJUT leader for hurting the sentiments of Muslim world by openly supporting expelled BJP leader Nupur Sharma who made outrageous comment against holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
