| Film 'Gulab Gaath' reaches Kathua, witnesses overwhelming audience response | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, June 13: The celebrations of 200th coronation day of Maharaja Gulab Singh witnessed overwhelming enthusiasm amongst audiences when the film Gulab Gatha reached Kathua amidst over-crowded enthusiasts. On behalf of Maharaja Gulab Singh Memorial Trust, Natrang Jammu is showcasing the Gulab Gatha show series in different districts of Jammu division. The show in Kathua was held at Kartar Public school where jam-packed film lovers appreciated the efforts of Natrang Jammu in educating masses about the glorious past of this region. Natrang thanked the Chairman Nirmaljeet Singh Amn, Principal Harpreet Kaur, Pooja Mahajan (Natrang's Kathua Coordinator), Administrator Officer Upinder S. Bandral for their unconditional support to the team Natrang Jammu. Witnessing local talent on a big screen in the backdrop of the history of the creation of the largest princely state of India was altogether a unique experience for the audience of Kathua who repeatedly desired Natrang Jammu to come up with more such ventures showcasing the history and culture of this region which is not exposed to the world.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dr. Karan Singh inspired Balwant Thakur to write, produce and direct this first ever film in the year 2017 on the history of the great Dogra ruler who created the larger princely state of India. Sharing his views Director Natrang Padmashree Balwant Thakur said that Natrang prides in the fact that it produced the first ever film on the creater of Jammu & Kashmir. Lot of research and collaborative effort has gone into the production of Gulab Gatha. He thanked Dr. Karan Singh for bestowing faith in him and his team and supported in realising this big dream production. As we are celebrating the 200th coronation day of Maharaja Gulab Singh, it is the high time that we all volunteer to take this film to every home in J&K and sensitize younger generations about their mind blowing rich past.
The film 'Gulab Gatha' is about the journey of a soldier who achieves great success at everything he initiated. His unquestionable obligatory obedience towards Lahore Durbar, his unconditional sacrifice and his conception of a kingdom has been regarded and given value in this. The greatness of leaders is not just in their works but in the way they have been appreciated and personified in the eyes of the people. Napoleon was a military and political hero of France and Alexander has been applauded for his greatness for his conquest. Gulab Singh as an emperor held the same qualities of being a courageous warrior. He was a normal person with no lineage of royalty but he established himself as a King with the help of his bravery and continued to keep a hold on his empire because of his well-planned strategic and diplomatic intelligence. |
