Early Times Report JAMMU, June 21: International Yoga Day was celebrated by the faculties, students and staff at the hostel premises of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Northern Regional Campus, Jammu on Tuesday. They performed different types of yoga like Pranayama, Yoga Asana, Surya Namaskar, chanting Gayatri Mantra and Om. On this occasion, Prof. Anil Saumitra, Coordinator, Hindi Journalism course said, "Combination of Yoga makes our mind and body fit and energetic. Through this, Indian traditional values and activities are established around the world. When we say India is a leader in the world, that means India is the leader in education, mental peace and philosophy. India is rich in educational wealth and shows the right direction to the whole world. Now, all countries celebrate this day due to the effort of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We must practice Yoga regularly." Under the guidance of Sanjit Khajuria, Assistant Professor, IIMC, all the faculties, students and staff perform several yoga activities and encourage people to adopt yoga in their daily lives by telling them its benefits. He said, "Through these activities, the mind became calm and inner strength became stronger. Everyone must be conscious about their breathing system during Dhyana." During these activities, Dr. Dilip Kumar, coordinator, English Journalism course, Dr. Vinit Utpal, Coordinator, Digital Media course, Anoop Kumar Wattal, Office Staff and students Anushka Bhardwaj, Devbrata Dutta, Harshika Yadav, Ishika Mukherjee, Pooja Choudhary, Priyanshi Sharma, Shashank Trivedi, Tanya Dwivedi and Rishabh Sharma were also performed yoga activities during session. |
