DDC Kishtwar visits Paddar to review arrangements ahead of Annual Shri Machail Mata Yatra

KISHTWAR, June 27: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma visited the block Paddar to take first hand appraisal of the arrangements put in place ahead of the commencement of the Annual Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2022.
En-route he inspected the common facility services sites for Yatries including designated Langars and Toilet sites.
He directed concerned executing agencies to expedite the pace of work to ensure the completion of works in stipulated time. At SDM office Paddar, he conducted an interactive meeting with local administration and PRIs.
District Development Council member Paddar, Hari Krishan Chouhan; SDM, Rishi Kumar Sharma; BDO Ravi Kumar; BMO Anil Kumar, besides other PRIs were present in the meeting.
During the interactive meet, the local PRIs highlighted various important issues for the smooth conduct of Yatra and Developmental requirements in the Shrine area.
The issues like installation of temporary toilets in the shrine area and en-route, maintenance of roads, registration of Yatries, Installation of solar lights from Gulab Garh to Machail and at langar and halts places, availability of Mobile network on the way to Machail, medical facilities, fixation of Bus fare from Gulab Garh to Kundail were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
After listening to their demands/issues, the District Development Commissioner informed them that temporary toilets will be installed at six places from Thathri up to Gulab Garh Paddar to augment the existing facility so that pilgrims may not face any problem.
He further informed the meeting that the concerned officers have been asked to put in place the necessary arrangements well before the commencement of Yatra which includes installation of Solar lights at required places, establishment of zone wise health and security counters at the designated places, up-gradation of road approaching to Shrine.
Besides, the DDC assured that the district and local administration has made all the necessary provisions for the Registration of Yatries, installation of mobile towers during the pilgrimage.
He further said that the concerned officers/authorities have been given direction to ensure the enforcement of passenger fare fixed by the administration, while ARTO has been instructed to chalk out a comprehensive plan of traffic management during Yatra times for smooth and hassle free movement of vehicles.
Several other issues related to up-gradation of the public infrastructure in the Panchayats were also discussed.
