Farmers' training in 'Art of Fruit & Vegetables Preservation' concludes at Khalleni

DODA, June 27: A Valedictory programme was organised by Horticulture Department Doda to mark the conclusion of one month Training Programme in the 'Art of Fruit and Vegetables preservation' here at Khellani Doda.
Chief Horticulture officer Rakesh Kotwal was the chief Guest, while the programme was also attended by MCC Bhaderwah, Bharat Bhushan and concerned PRIs. The programme was organized in collaboration with JKRLM Doda.
The Chief Horticulture officer, in his addresses, asked the trainees to establish their own processing units by availing incentives under CAPEX/MIDH PMFMe and Agri Infrastructure Fund exclusively meant for various post harvest Management techniques and exploit the available potential in the District. "This will not only make you self-reliant but also help in doubling your income in addition to reduction in the post harvest losses," the CHO said. The Manager cum Chemist Bhaderwah advised the participants to form Self Help Groups in their respective areas and utilize knowledge of training programmes in preparation and marketing of different value added products to become Atam Nirbhar. The programme ended with distribution of Certificates to the participant.
