Jkta organises confrences, raises issues of teachers

Jammu, June 28: Jammu Kashmir Teachers' Association (JKTA) organised confrences at Poonch under the chairmanship of District President Poonch JKTA Ishaq Khayal and at Rajouri under the leadership of District President JKTA Mohd Mahroof. UT President JKTA/National Convenor AIPRUF Bhupinder Singh was the chief guest in both confrences and UT Vice Chairman JKTA Javed Chouhan, UT Patron Kuldeep Katoach, UT Convenor Irfan Bajran,UT Coordinator Sunil salaria , UT advisor Shoket Chouhan ,UT Deputy Secretrary Farooq Tanha , District Chairman Shafiq Chouhan , Provincial Vice President Uttam Singh, Provincial Publicity Secretrary Joginder Singh and Surjeet Singh were special guests on the occasion . In Poonch ,The confrence was attended by a large number of teachers from all zones of Poonch and large number of teachers of all zones of district Rajouri also attended the conference at Rajouri.
While speaking on the occasion Bhupinder Singh raised the burning issues of the teaching fraternity.He appealed the government to frame a comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme as they have been serving in same schools for last more than 21 years .Raising issue of inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits , he sought the favour of the department in the court to resolve it .
He appealed the LG administration to restore old pension scheme for all the NPS employees of Jammu and Kashmir appointed after 01.01.2010 so that their post retirement life not be in trouble.
He also demanded rationalisation of teaching staff to overcome the shortage of staff in rural areas where many schools are under staff.
He also demanded relieving of teachers/masters from all sorts of non teaching assignments; sanction of posts of masters in SSA upgraded middle schools and DPC of teachers to masters as same is pending since 2014 .
He also demanded raising of grade of teachers at par with their counterparts in other UTs.
