NC pays rich tributes to marty's of 1931

JAMMU, July 13: Rich Tributes were paid to Marty's of 1931 at Sher-e- Kashmir Bhavan, Jammu today in this connection a function was held to observe Marty's Day in which prominent leaders and workers of National Conference workers participated and paid glowing tributes to the Marty's.
While addressing the gathering Provincial President Jammu Province Rattan Lal Gupta said that Marty's of 1931 sacrificed their lives for the cause of the democracy and freedom of press and speech. He asserted the movement at that time was not against any person or community it was against the system which was prevalent in those days not in J&K only but whole of the country.
Mr Gupta said that Jammu and Kashmir has a unique history and it has seen so many ups and down in the past. However the National Conference leadership has remained the voice of the people of the Jammu and Kashmir and fought for the democratic rights of the people of the Jammu and Kashmir from its very inception.
National Conference is committed to uphold the traditional secularism and communal harmony which is dearest and important agenda of the party. Mr Gupta added. To fight to protect the rights and interest of the people of J&K is core agenda of the party.
While paying tributes to the Marty's Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary Jammu said 13th July 1931 was a turning point in J&K State and this has shaped the future of J&K people. National Conference is a people's, movement it represents the aspiration of the people, which will continue for the interest of the people.
Vijay Lochan P.P SC Cell, Abdul Gani Teli P.P OBC Cell, Vijay Laxmi Dutta, Dr. Shamshad Shan DDC Chairperson, Swarn Latta Ex-MLA also paid tributes to Marty's of 1931. The National Conference leadership always fought for the democratic values and to uphold the traditional values of secularism and communal harmony under the tall leadership of its founder Sher-e- Kashmir Sheikh Mohd Abdullah. National Conference opted for leader India in 1947 when the country was under the grip of communal forces.
Two minutes silence was also observed for the souls of Marty's.
