DDC chairman inaugurates job fair at Bhaderwah

BHADERWAH, July 14: District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Doda on Thursday organised a one day Job fair here at Community Hall Bhaderwah.
District Development Council Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal inaugurated the Job Fair hosted as part of Developmental Deliverables rolled out by the UT administration.
Deputy Director Employment Idrees Lone supervised the event held on the directions and guidance of District Development Commissioner Vikas Sharma.
Several Companies including Mahindra Motors, Natural Essence Oils Pvt Ltd, LIC and others participated in the fair and shortlisted the candidates for jobs as per their requirements. More than 200 youth participated in the Job Fair. 52 candidates were shortlisted among the participating youth.
Meanwhile, the line departments had put up stalls to showcase and create awareness about the incentives provided under the self-employment schemes of Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Agriculture, Handicraft and Handlooms, ITI etc. The officers of different departments acquainted the unemployed youth about the process for applying to avail the benefits of self employment schemes.
Dozens of applications were received during the fair from interested unemployed youth under different self employment schemes, which shall be processed for early release of loan / benefits.
The Dy Director Employment urged upon the students and unemployed youth not to hanker after public sector jobs and instead avail opportunities in ever diversifying private sector and self-employment opportunities available under various government schemes.
Interacting with job seekers, the DDC Chairman exhorted upon them to avail subsidy based self-employment schemes run by different departments.
He complimented the employment department for roping in private companies working within the district/division to provide employment to educated unemployed youth of the district.
Earlier, officers from the line departments and private companies explained in detail, nature of posts and self-employment opportunities available with their respective organizations/departments
