Sunderbani, July 31: JKPCC Chief Spokesperson and former MLC Ravinder Sharma has demanded crop compensation to the farmers due to heavy damage to maize crop.
Addressing a largely attended meeting at Panchayat Patrara today as part of jan sampark abhyan launched by him in different panchayats, Mr Sharma was apprised about huge loss to maize crop due to defective seeds. He was apprised about the particular disease in the seed that caused huge loss to farmers.
The people also highlighted huge unemployment and unprecedented price hike, huge taxations, besides anti poor, anti farmers policies of the government making ot difficult for the common people to survive. The people also expressed resentment about the unjust and arbitrary delimitation of assembly constituencies thus doing injustice to Sunderbani which deserved a separate asembly segment.
The village patrara was adopted as Adarsh Gaon by the BJP government but failed to witness any new development and improvement in basic facilities except that development and government institutions created by Congress.
They appreciated the efforts of Mr Sharma for lot of efforts and upgradation of facilities during his tenure as MLC in power, water, health and education sectors and extended full support to him.
Former MLC assured the gathering to raise their genuine issues at higher forums and asked them to rise about narrow considerations to get their due.
