KISHTWAR, July 31: A woman in mid 30s was today arrested by Jammu & Kashmir Police following an incident wherein she unsuccessfully attempted to move down a traffic cop on Kishtwar-Padder-Himachal Pradesh highway.
As per the details available with Early Times a written complaint was filed by traffic police stating that on 30-7-2022, a women identified as Nishu Kumar R/o Draba Dool while coming from Dool side towards Kishtwar when reached near Hunjala in rashly manner driving the vehicle and ASI namely Tara Chand posted with traffic police somehow managed to save his life.
The complaint said that when they (police) tried to stopd the vehicle, the driver misbehaved with him, abused the cops on duty, threatened the cops for life and prevented them from performing their duties. On receipt of the complaint, Kishtwar police registered FIR 185/2022 U/S 353/504/506 IPC, 184 Motor Vehicle Act and started investigation.
Not stopping after the said incident, the ‘brat’ woman was today once again found indulging in rash and neglecting driving and was stopped by the nakka police party at Zelna where this woman once again created ruckus and abused the cops on duty. As soon as the senior officials came to know about the matter, after verification it was found that the lady is same woman who tried to run over the ASI of the traffic cop as a result of which the senior police officials immediately rush to the spot and arrested the women- not before she hit a local female journalist and injured her while she tried to flee from the spot.
The ‘brat’ woman this time also created ruckus and assaulted the lady cops who were part of the team that had reached the spot for detaining her. “She was really a threat for the commuters - We have formally arrested her and seized her vehicle” said a senior police official, adding that the law will take its own course. “Law didn’t differentiate between genders- it is equal for everyone and we followed the due course of the law while arresting her” the police added.
