ASCOMS & Hospital organises free orthopaedic camp

JAMMU, Aug 2: A free orthopaedic camp was organized today at Vidhya Physiotherapy Clinic, Ramgarh. The camp was organized by the Departments of Orthopaedics and Anaesthesia, ASCOMS & Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Orthopaedic Association. The camp was inaugurated by D K Manyal, Ex-MLA Samba, D K Batra, Secretary, ASCOMS & Dr. Rajesh K. Gupta, Prof & Head, Orthopaedics ASCOMS & President, J&K Orthopaedic Association. This camp is a part of Bone & Joint Day activities. The Bone & Joint Day is celebrated all over India on 4th of August every year. To celebrate this day, Indian Orthopaedic Association and Jammu & Kashmir Orthopaedic Association have planned number of activities all over the State for the benefit of poor and needy people.
Around 400 patients were examined in the camp by a team of Orthopaedic Surgeons of the Department of Orthopaedics namely Dr. Shafiq Hackla, Dr. Nitish Sharma, Dr. Sunny Sharma and Dr. Akshay Khajuria, headed by Dr. Rajesh. Free medicines were also distributed to the needy patients. The patients were also screened for free surgeries which will be conducted at ASCOMS & Hospital, Sidhra. Moreover, training to the general public on Basic Life Support was also given by a team of Doctors from Department of Anaesthesia, ASCOMS & Hospital.
