Shiv Sena accuses Govt of betraying J&K people
8/5/2022 11:42:17 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 5: On the third anniversary of abrogation of Article 370 from the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Shiv Sena today accused the central government headed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi of disobedience and indifference to public issues like return of statehood to J&K, continuous discrimination with Jammu, etc.
Holding placards with slogans like "Give employment to local youth", "Secure Kashmir", dozens of Shiv Sena activists today staged a silent protest against the hollow policies of BJP led government at the Centre.
As per the instructions of Manish Sahni, President J&K Shiv Sena, dozens of Shiv Sainiks under the leadership of State Youth Wing President Binny Mahajan staged a silent dharna on BC Road near the Main Bus Stand of Jammu.
In his address, Binny said that on August 5, 2019, the happiness of the people who came out on the streets to welcome it with drums and drums on the removal of Article 370 is turning into despair due to the callous attitude and disobedience of the government. “All the promises of creating a new Jammu and Kashmir equipped with statehood, democratic process, development, employment and restoration of peace have not been fulfilled even after a long gap of three years due to which people of the state are feeling cheated and betrayed,” he added. “People of Jammu region have highly disappointed by not giving full rights in the State Assembly, ignoring demand of state holiday on the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh, restoration of peace was not possible in Kashmir, unemployment at peak in J&K.
The promise of return of Kashmiri Pandits to Valley was also proved to be a hoax,” he added.
He asked the central government not to test the patience of people of Jammu region failing which they would teach BJP a lesson in the upcoming Assembly elections.
