Batwal Maha Sabha organizes Parinirman Diwas, pays tributes

JAMMU, Aug 6: Members of Batwal community paid rich tributes to Batwal Jaggo Ram on his 66th Parinirman Diwas here on Saturday. The function was organized by Batwal Maha Sabha. Large number of Batwal community members participated in the event and paid floral tributes to the late leader. Late Batwal Jaggo Ram as a great soul, born on 11th November 1876 and left the world on 6th August 1957. SSP Mohan Lal Kaith was the chief guest on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering he said, "Jaggo Ram ji rose above the caste barriers and worked for the welfare of the whole humanity,"
The SSP said that good work done by Batwal Jaggo Ram Ji should be carried forward for the betterment of the humanity. President of the Batwal Maha Sabha, retired Subedar Major Romesh Chandra Sargotra termed the deceased leader as a social reformer, fearless and fair leader.
Sargotra also demanded that in the ensuing assembly elections mandate from the Marh constituency must be given to the member of the Batwal community. "Till now all major political parties have ignored our community and we have a huge share of votes. We have decided this time to support the candidate from our own community," he added.
Sabha General Secretary Ramlal Lakhotra accompanied by others presented two Shawls to the chief guest as a token of love and respect.
Lakhotra also thanked the community members for participating in the function actively and making the program a grand success.
Prominent among others who participated in the function included Chairman Kamal Singh Kaith, Mela Ram Tagga, Kamal Chand Motan, Dunni Singh Motan, Gunni Ram Kaith, Ram Lal Sargotra, Bua Ditta Kaith, Narain Dass Bassa, Uttam Chand Sandhu, Fouji Joginder Sangam, Bhushan Kaith, Rashpal Lakhotra, Darshan Lal Kaith, Gurdas Sargotra, Baljeet Kaith, Gharu Ram Sandhu, Raghubir Lakhotra, Baldev Raj Lakhotra, Karnail Singh, Darwari Lal Sargotra, Ghandharab Motan, Mohan Lal Motan, Som Nath, Mohan Lal Kaith, Chaman Lal Kaith, Naib Sarpanch Chanchal Singh, Panch Ram Dayal and Parveen Kumar.
