Stephens College of Nursing observes breast feeding week

JAMMU, Aug 6: Stephens College of Nursing (Under the aegis of Dr. Aparna Educational Trust) observes breast feeding week to cognizant the general mass. The students of M.Sc (N)- 1st year and B.Sc(N) - 3rd year participated zealously and enthusiastically . The students of different classes made stupendous and marvellous poster in poster making Competition which was held on the college premises on the topic 'Step up for breastfeeding Educate and support under the guidance of Joyce B. Singh (Assistant Professor) and support of Shabnam Sambyal (Assistant Professor SCON) and Shallu Manhas (Nursing Tutor)
Radhika and Savita secured 1st position , Anjeelina and Avilasha secured 2nd position and Vaishali and Sheetal secured 3rd position respectively Prizes were distributed among all the winners.
The programme was organized by Pediatric and OBG Department Dr. Arun Sharma (Medical Superintendent GMC Gandhi Nagar, Jammu) highly appreciated pediatric and OBG department for conducting such wondrous events. Manoj Kotru (Administrator SCON), Muni Dhar (Principal SCON) and Kheema Peshin (Vice-Principal SCON) applauded the winners of poster making and the performers of role play.
The students of M.Sc. Nursing- 1st year presented Health talk and students of B.Sc. Nursing 3rd year presented a wondrous role play on the importance of breast feeding in the maternity hospital , GMC Gandhi Nagar.
The motto of observing this week was to make aware the general mass about the significance and importance of Breast Feeding for a mother and child.
