POWERGRID provides Mobile Medical Units to Health Deptt HP

Himachal Pardesh, Aug 29: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) handed over two Mobile Medical Units(MMUs) fitted with advanced Tuberculosis diagnostic as well as detection equipment to the Health Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
Vipin Singh Parmar, speaker Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly received these two MMUs from Kailash Rathore, Executive Director, POWERGRID, Northern Region-II in presence of Anil Sharma, Chief General Manager (Projects), POWERGRID, Dev Kumar Sr. General Manager (HP), POWERGRID, Vinod P. Baxla, General Manager (HR), POWERGRID, Senior officials from POWERGRID and Himachal Pradesh Government. The vehicles were flagged off by Vipin Singh Parmar and Kailash Rathore jointly on this occasion.
POWERGRID had sanctioned fund amounting approximately Rs 0.75 crore for providing two Mobile Medical units (MMU) to CMO, Kangra in the state of Himachal Pradesh. These mobile medical units can prove to be game changer in the remote areas in respect of health care, particularly in treatment of TB, as medical facilities will be accessible to the people at their door steps in the far flung areas of this hill state.
Under CSR activities. health sector is one of the trust area of POWERGRID especially in the government hospitals of rural and urban areas across the country with the belief that creation of medical facilities is important for ensuring that government is able to cater to the medical requirements of the general masses.
As a responsible Corporate Citizen, POWERGRID has been extending support to various infrastructure activities of Himachal Pradesh through its CSR activities. Earlier one truck mounted sewer jetting machine, one litter picking machine, One truck mounted sweeping machine with vacuum cleaner and one truck mounted compactor was handed over to Municipal Corporation, Shimla with financial implication of Rs 1.98 cr. Similarly one SPV mounted vacuum assisted road sweeper, two sewer cleaning jetting vehicle machines costing Rs 1.31 crore had been handed over to Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Manali, District Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, 3250 solar LED street lights and 13000 twin bins dustbins having financial implication of Rs 11.49 crore, have been supplied and installed in various parts of Himachal Pradesh.
