Dr Sehrish presides Town Diwas at Dak Bungalow Bla; listens people's issues/ demands

BARAMULLA, Aug 31: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today held a day-long Town Diwas under the District Administration's outreach programme at Dak Bungalow here to listen to the issues and grievances of the public and PRIs. President, Municipal Council Baramulla, Touseef Raina and different stakeholders including PRIs, civil society members, among other prominent citizens of the area were present on the occasion.
Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Rayees Mohammad Bhat; Joint Director Planning, M.Yousuf Rather; various concerned officers also attended the programme. On the occasion, Public Representatives and locals flagged-off various issues and grievances before the DC meant for the overall welfare and socio-economic development of the town.
Issues raised before the DC include improvement in water and electricity supply, macadamization of main and link roads, improvement in education and healthcare facilities.
After listening to the grievances and issues of the general public, the DC issued on spot directions to the concerned officers of line departments asking them to look into the issues of the people so that they are redressed on priority.
The People also raised various demands of their pursuits during which the DC assured that all their genuine demands shall be taken up for redressal.
Moreover, the DC also exhorted upon the concerned officers to work with zeal and cohesion in order to accomplish the developmental works. She also directed all the departments to ensure complete coordination with PRIs to achieve the targets.
