Pakistan: Failed State
9/4/2022 11:10:02 PM

Instead of focusing on the devastation caused due to floods, rulers in Pakistan are busy raking Kashmir and are remembering Hurriyat hawk, Syed Ali Shah Geelani on his death anniversary.
According to the media report one-seventh the population of Pakistan is facing a starvation threat and more than 2000 people have lost their lives in the floods.
Prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed but the rulers in Pakistan are organizing marches to remember Geelani. It appears to be a clear diversionary tactic aimed at shifting the focus of the people from the issues like inflation and the inability of the Pakistan Government to provide relief to the flood victims.
Pakistan rulers have always used Kashmir as a tool to hide behind their failures. Even after losing a 32-year old long proxy war, Pakistan continues to remain obsessed with Kashmir and seems in no mood to give up. The rulers there are ignoring the fact that their country is being pushed towards bankruptcy and the day is not far when China will take over the entire land. China has been building infrastructure in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and is eyeing other areas also.
The Pakistani economy is under huge Chinese debt and its rulers are not even able to utter a single word against the expansionist plans of China. It’s not only Chinese debt which the country is reeling under, it owes billions of dollars to the World Bank.
Despite facing a threat to its existence, Pakistan rulers keep on harping about Kashmir and showing dreams to people. Pakistan has failed as a state due to its failure to provide basic amenities to its citizens.
A recent order issued by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) stated that the inflation measured by the Sensitive Price Index (SPI) has risen steeply in the previous week climbing to a record 45.5 percent year-on-year in September, the highest level in a decade. Prices of food items including onions have risen by 42.17 percent, tomatoes at 13.25 percent, pulse moong (Washed) by 7.94 percent, potatoes 6.97 percent, eggs 3.84 percent, Chicken 3.25 percent and Wheat flour by 1.49 percent. The country which is unable to even provide basic food items to its citizens at affordable prices is observing the death anniversary of Hurriyat hawk Geelani. It’s a strange country where rulers have no idea about their priorities.
