2-day Nag Devta Mela commences with traditional fervor, gaiety in Reasi

REASI, Sept 10: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakhwal today presided over the inaugural function of 2-day Nag Devta mela amidst beating of drums and festivity.
Various activities, including sports competitions, local cultural programs featuring folk dance and music items including Kudd and Baakh mark the day.
Addressing the event, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the Mela committee for organizing such a grand event. She appreciated the students of the area who participated in different games and cultural programmes and wished them a successful career in life.
The DDC said that the Government of India has launched varied schemes for welfare of the general public and appealed to the gathering to come forward and avail the maximum benefit of the same.
The officers were asked to put in sincere and dedicated efforts to make the general public aware about the different Central and State Government sponsored schemes tailored especially for upliftment of rural people.
Meanwhile, the District administration has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the Mela like uninterrupted power, safe drinking water, sanitation, medicare, Police Control Room, assistance booth and security.
On this occasion, Chairman DDC Saraf Singh Nag along with BDC Chairperson Ashok Thakur, Tehsildar Bhomag Suresh Singh, besides other district officers & officials were also present.
