Div Com reviews road connectivity to temples near Bawe Wali Mata

JAMMU, Sept 22: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Ramesh Kumar today reviewed the road connectivity to the temples and shrines near Bawe Wali Mata Bahu Fort area here at a meeting with concerned officers.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa; Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav; VC JDA, Pankaj Magotra; Deputy Director Planning, Munish Dutta; besides Superintendent Engineers of PWD, UEED and other concerned officers.
The Div Com inquired about the status of ongoing works being executed in the Bahu Fort area and the concerned engineers informed that the bituminous macadam (BM) work is in progress on a road length of 2 KM from Main entry point to National Highway.
The Div Com instructed the concerned engineers to expedite the pace of work and complete the black topping of the entire stretch well before the start of Navratras so that devotees don't face any inconveniences.
While reviewing the renovation work on the university road, the Div Com directed UEED, Smart City and PWD to expedite construction of drains, tile laying and maintenance works by executing work in double shifts.
The SE PWD informed that the tender has been floated and the blacktopping work would be started soon. The UEED was also instructed to expedite the pace of work on all the sewerage, drainage projects being executed in the area and complete the same in a time bound manner.
Jammu Smart City Limited was asked to speed up ongoing works of tiles, footpaths, installation of benches etc.
Commissioner JMC was instructed to start illumination of bridges, Bahu Fort area, facade lifting to complete the same well before Navratras.
The Div Com also directed JMC officials to ensure proper sanitation of the area besides ensuring lifting of garbage and its proper disposal.
While reviewing parking facilities, it was informed that 2 parking areas are available. The Div Com stressed on proper traffic management during Navratra days.
