JAMMU, Sept 22: GGM Science College organised a national level interactive meet on Geo-heritage with INTACH Jammu Chapter under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr. Rajesh Gupta and supervision of Head of the Department Geology Dr. Sukhchain Sharma. The Department of Geologyconducted the meet in the conference hall regarding the Identification, Conservation and Preservation of Geo-heritage sites in Jammu region. The main aim of this meet was to prepare a roadmap for the coming 'World Heritage Day' celebration on 6th October, 2022. SM Sahni Convener of INTACH Jammu Chapter presided over the meet and Dr.C M Seth (Retd. IFS and Environmentalist) was the chief guest. The meeting was attended by J.K Vaid (Retd. Director, GSI), Sewa Das (Retd. Senior Deputy Director General, GSI), B.D Thappa (Retd. ADG, GSI). Dr. Ajay Kumar (DirectorGSI, Jammu), Dr.Vinod Kumar (Director GSI, Jammu), Rajinder Chib (Geologist, Konkon Railways Limited). The event was coordinated by Dr. Deepali Mahajan, Dr. Sham Singh Kotwal, Dr. Arjun Rathore, Prof. Davinder Singh Dr. Neha and Dr. Shiv Pandey. The welcome address was presented by Prof.Preeti and vote of thanks was given by Dr. Sham. The Faculty members of Geology Department of GGM Science college and Cluster university of Jammu attended the meet. The ideas and experiences of these literary who were Alumni of GGM Science college was shared with the young faculty and students. |
