JAMMU, Sept 25: Ramleela holds great significance in the lives of people as it is the theatrical depiction of epic Ramayana giving the precious message that good always triumph over the evil.
This was said by senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta during an interaction with a delegation of Ramleela artists who visited the stalwart leader seeking his benign presence at different locations hosting Ramleela this year.
Kavinder said that the traditional art form of Ramleela holds much significance as still it is the source of disseminating knowledge among the people through various episodes taken from the great Hindu epic Ramayana showcasing the ideal life of Bhagwan Ram and how He defeated Ravana giving a message that the truth prevails over evil. After healthy interaction, Kavinder assured the artists that he would witness the important episodes of Ramayana at different places by visiting the different venues. He asked the visiting artists to work hard in sustaining this art form by innovation and adding technology without losing the conventional charm and ethnicity.
The senior BJP leader said that Ramleela is the source for bringing awareness among the youths about the vibrant and glorious past of the Indian subcontinent. He emphasized on roping in new generation into such activities to generate a connect between young and the old as it is very important to carry forward the rich legacy of ancestors who used to lay down their lives for the sake of uprightness and truth.
Later, Kavinder Gupta paid tributes to Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya on this birth anniversary. He said that Panditji was an intellectual who worked for uplifting the underprivileged.
He said that the contribution of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya towards uplifting the poor is remarkable and the BJP government’s welfare policies are all based on his philosophy of Antodaya.
