DC launches door to door waste collection drive from Ghat Arnora

DODA, Sept 27: District Development Commissioner, Doda today launched Door to Door waste collection drive across 237 Panchayats of the district under the ongoing Swachh Gaon Sundar Gaon Campaign.
Under the 'Swach Gaon Sundar Gaon" initiative Panchayats would compete among each other in keeping their areas clean by introducing all the swachhta/ cleanliness methods and means. The Panchayats shall be ranked considering different parameters and accordingly awarded by the District Administration.
The initiative shall become a toll for creating awareness a tradition in the district.
In continuation to the ongoing campaign of Swach Gaon Sunder Gaon, the DDC Doda today launched a door to door waste collection drive in all the 237 Panchayats of the district from Bus Stand Ghat of Arnora Panchayat. The directions in this regard were issued by DC Doda to all the BDOs and RDD Officials in an online meeting yesterday.
The DC also distributed dustbins and participated in the cleanliness activities at village Ghat.
It is pertinent to mention here that PRIs, Civil societies, NGOs and locals have appreciated the innovative initiative of District Administration and are actively involved in the Swachhta activities throughout the District.
The representatives of local NGOs and members of Self Help Groups constituted under Swachhta Mission have volunteered to carry out the campaign.
The DC was accompanied by BDC Chairperson Ghat, Shareefa Begum; SSP, Abdul Qayoom; ACD Phulail Singh, ACP, Ashfaq Khan, BDO Ghat and other concerned officers and officials.
