Reclaiming POK
9/27/2022 10:49:59 PM
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently stated that the decision on the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) should have been taken during the 1971 war.
He recollected that 1971 Bangladesh war was fought for humanity instead of property, possession or power, but he regretted that no decision on POK was taken at that point of time. It was a golden opportunity for the Indian leadership to end all the disputes once for all.
Entire world is aware of the fact that Pakistan has been using POK as the breeding ground for terrorism. The terrorists trained in the terror training camps in POK were sent into this side to carryout subversive activities and spread terror. Had the issue of POK been settled in 1971 itself, Pakistan would not have got an opportunity to misuse the land which has been under its illegal occupation since 1947.
Till 2014, when Narendra Modi, took over as the Prime Minister, none of the regimes in Centre allowed the Indian Army to crossover to the other side and hit the terrorists inside their dens.
However, in 2016, PM Modi led regime directed the armed forces to cross the Line of Control (LoC) and carryout surgical strikes to avenge the Uri terror attack on the Army camp.
Then in 2019, the Indian Air Force crossed the LoC and hit the terrorists camps deep inside the Pakistan territory in Balakote to avenge Pulwama suicide attack which left 40 Central Reserve Police Force jawans dead. After PM Modi has taken over the reins of the country he has sent clear messages to Pakistan and the terrorists that if they cast an evil towards India, the armed forces of the country would cross the border and hit them hard.
During PM Modi’s tenure, India has emerged as a powerful country, which has sent a clear message to its adversaries that no nonsense will b e tolerated. The consensus is building in the country to reclaim the POK from Pakistan. Doing so will end the terrorism permanently and will allow the denizens of that unfortunate land to breathe freely. Off late residents of PoK have staged many protests against the tyrannical rulers of Pakistan and they have been seeking Azadi from the country.
