Drug de-addiction centre set up in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Sept 28: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on Wednesday inaugurated a newly established Drug De-addiction Centre here in the Old Hospital Rajouri.
Present amongst others were Chief Medical Officer Rajouri, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar; Medical Superintendent GMC and AH Rajouri, Dr Mehmood Hussain Bajar; District Social Welfare Officer Rajouri, Wakeel Ahmed Bhat officials from Social Welfare and Health departments.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri congratulated the departments involved in establishing the Drug De-addiction centre. "The facility will be extremely beneficial for the people, especially who are struggling with drug addiction and are in need of assistance and counseling" the DC said and added "Setting up of Drug De-addiction centre is a boon as this centre will aid in bringing about positive changes in the lives of those people who will be treated at the centre, "he stated.
He also informed that the centre will be run by highly qualified professionals with effective strategy to rehabilitate the patients. The DC also elaborated that treatment and rehabilitation services in this centre would play a key role in reducing the social stigma and discrimination against drug abusers and their reintegration into society as healthy and productive members of the community.
He also said that besides running OPD, the centre would rehabilitate drug addicts and the patients who need extra care would be admitted in the centre till their recovery.
The DC also asked the concerned officers to ensure that best possible services are provided to the drug addicts in the centre and make dedicated efforts to make the district free from drug menace.
